Seminar Excerpts & Testimonials
I consider it a great privilege to recommend my friend Vincent Edwards as a motivational speaker and leadership coach. I have known Vincent for many years and know him to be not only a dynamic and energetic speaker who is able to powerfully connect with his audience, but also as a man of integrity who walks the walk. You will not be disappointed with his leadership for your next meeting.
Conversing with Vincent is like taking a dive into a cool, refreshing mountain spring. The conversation not only flows smoothly (even, on a humorous note, during “little” interruptions like power surges), but also has a sincerity that rings true. Vincent can converse masterfully on anything, and has a way of making his guests feel both welcomed and very special. Most importantly, Vincent’s conversations are always grounded in matters of the spirit, as well as rooted in the practicalities of the everyday.
Vincent, through word and example, encourages everyone to aspire to inhabit the realm where, to borrow from Tolkien, “joy and sorrow are as sharp as swords.” He teaches us what it means to be fully human, and to be fully alive.
I have had the distinguished opportunity to hear him speak at Saint Mary Primitive Baptist Church, where I serve as Pastor and he has delivered at least seven motivational presentations for the Tallahassee Urban League where I serve as president and chief executive officer. Mr. Edwards speaks truth and from the heart to youth and adults. I believe any organization would benefit greatly from hearing the messages that he delivers. I highly recommend Vincent T. Edwards “Mr. Speaker”.
Many people who I’d characterize as “pros” don’t have the “heart.” Many people who have the heart don’t have the background and skill to back it up. Rare is the person with both. Vincent has them in abundance. My interactions with him have made me proud to stand beside him for a cause and made me impressed to watch him ply his craft. He is a man with grace.
His talk was a very practical and accessible one that focused on how individuals-in this case, my CARE freshmen composition students-can rise above the level of mediocrity in their personal, academic, and professional lives. Through the use of a three-stage process, involving a concentration on purpose, plan, and performance, Mr. Edwards offered timely and invaluable advice on a range of matters: overcoming procrastination; making wise decisions, conquering the fear of public speaking; succeeding in the business realm; and displaying confidence in social situations.
Vincent is a dynamic and energetic young man. He understands that success is a product of determination, tenacity and work. His success as an Inspirational and Motivational Speaker can be attributed to this understanding as well as adhering to positive principles and values. Being his mentor is a blessing to me because Vincent ‘Mr. Speaker” is a man who listens and applies what he has been taught. What that means to me is that he does not waste time, mine or his. He shares his knowledge and life experiences (successes and failures) because he desires to help improve the lives of others. Vincent is a man with a memorable message, a speaker that speaks from his heart.
Your presentation to my speech class was inspirational, eloquent, and challenging. You held the students’ interest with both your experiences and your group interaction, which gave them much to aspire to and empathize with. Continue to inspire people of all ages and ethnicities.
Thank you for offering the invocation at the January 30, 2007 meeting of the Governor and Cabinet. Please accept my gratitude and appreciation for your spiritual leadership and service to your community and to the State of Florida.
